Published over 60 years ago, this volume is still one of the most comprehensive bible references ever produced. Arranged in chronological order as described in Scripture, each section has dozens of black & white photos of the areas today (if today is 1956!), and full-color, full-page maps of the region as they were in the times of the Bible. Every chapter also has an extremely readable and entertaining exposition and description by the author, who travelled extensively through the region when he compiled the notes for this book.
